Golden

The city of Golden is located at the base of the Rocky Mountains, yet it is close to downtown Denver and ideally located near major highways such as the C470, I-70 and U.S Highways 6, 58 and 93. Two beautiful mesas separate the city from the rest of the metro area. History

The search for gold drew early settlers to Golden city, which eventually became a regular stopping place for gold miners seeking their fortune. The richness of the soil in the valley that now houses the Coors complex didn’t go unnoticed by early farmers, and it wasn’t long before clay extraction and coal mining industries settled into the area. Golden became a federally-recognized Colorado Territory in 1862 and was elected the seat of Jefferson County by the end of 1860s.
