City Facts

The world’s first cheeseburger was made in Denver. Denver is also home to eight professional sports teams and a popular setting for many novels penned by well-known authors. The city offers many off-road trails for people who love to hike, bike, ski and snowboard. Many visitors would be surprised by the city’s mild climate, but if you’re planning to visit anytime soon, be sure to check the weather forecast before you start packing.

Culture

The city of Denver is rich in cultural diversity. You’ll find yourself immersed in Asian culture when you take a walk down South Federal Boulevard, which has many Vietnamese, Chinese, and Thai restaurants, markets and shops. You can enjoy some good soul food at any of the restaurants in the Five Points neighborhood. The Five Points neighborhood is also home of the Black American West Museum & Heritage Center, which showcases many African-American historical artifacts. Denver’s Sakura Square is rich in Japanese culture, and Denver’s Highland neighborhood is home to a flourishing Latin American community.

Recreation

Denver has more than 4,000 acres of open space and parks, including wildlife parks showcasing native animals and species as well as species from other parts of the country. You can check out Western artifacts at the Denver Art Museum or the dinosaur bone displays at the Museum of Nature & Science.
You can also take a wine and brewery tour at the Coors Brewery. Denver is known as the “Napa Valley of Beer” because it brews more beer than any other city in the nation.
